The memory of injustice done never dies. Forgive and forget? Forget that! The authorities might try to cover it up, and for a while they might seem to succeed, but the memory lives on in stories passed down from generation to generation and in obscure files waiting to be opened and read. In the end, the story comes out. In the case of Gertrude Perkins, which I wrote about almost a year ago on September 24, 2010, there seems to be a certain kind of justice done 62 years later.
